UNB Saint John-DMNB Biobank: Analysis of biospecimens and clinical data from cancer patients and volunteers without cancer, Canada

Objective: Reiman Biobank was established in 2013, at the DMNB Open Concept Lab, Dept. of Biology, University of New Brunswick, Saint John. The bank is led by the Clinical Investigator Dr. Tony Reiman and the Senior Scientist, Dr. Alli Murugesan in coordination with other Clinical Investigators, Research Scientist, Research Technicians, Postdoctoral Fellows and Graduate Students of the Reiman Cancer Research Lab. Banked samples include Cancer Patients/Healthy volunteers/Anonymized non-cancer patients Specimens- Blood and bone marrow samples processed to isolate plasma, WBC, MNC; immunomagnet-based separation of plasma cells (CD138 positive) etc for research purposes. All biobank procedures are carried out in accordance to Horizon Health Network and UNB Research Ethics Boards, Dalhousie University and UNB Biosafety Committees.
