Objective: The Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is an academic health science centre affiliated with the University of Toronto. Research is conducted through the Sunnybrook Research Institute. Areas of focus include oncology, brain sciences (stroke, dementia and mental health) and cardiovascular and musculoskeletal disease as well as research in trauma (burns), obstetrics, neonatology and rehabilitation. The biobank will facilitate cutting edge research led by Sunnybrook Research Institute (SRI) investigators and their collaborators towards understanding disease biology, developing novel therapeutics and advancing personalized medicine.
