Point-of-Care C-Reactive Protein for Cystic Fibrosis Disease Activity Monitoring (POC-CRP), Canada

Registration Status: Completed

Objective: This prospective observational study will measure CRP, a blood biomarker, levels using point-of-care (POC) testing and in the clinical lab over one year to validate POC against clinical lab-based testing and to examine the variability of CRP over time and its relationship with respiratory symptoms, lung function, and clinical status. An Abbott rapid testing machine will be used to test POC CRP. Venous blood will be collected to obtain clinical lab CRP. Any leftover samples will be kept for optional biobanking for future research.
