Specimen Collection in Gynecologic Cancer, Canada

Registration Status: Completed

Objective: The purpose is to gather blood and unused tissue samples (either normal, malignant, or both), which will be removed at the time of surgery, and will be stored for future use in cancer research. From tissue samples we will extract DNA/RNA and cell lines to look for new biomarkers that can help future cancer treatment. The long term goal is to perform research in order to contribute information in the fight against cancer i.e., to develop better therapies for cancer. The short term goal is to collect human blood and tissue samples for use in future research studies on cancer.
